If you are like me, you watched in horror as the events in Charlottesville unfolded. Worse,  I watched as believers began to attack each other over differences of opinion. I felt a little sick in the pit of my stomach. We were fighting again, IN FRONT OF THE WORLD!

THEN the Lord reminded me of an experience I had had with Him about a month ago.

On that morning, as I was praying for our Sunday church service, I began to feel disturbed about the angry posts I had seen on Facebook the night before. I felt a little like a mama watching her children fight with each other.  It felt horrible.

Suddenly, I heard the Lord speak to me. "When the cloud of My glory fills the room, My children will not see the imperfections of others so clearly. BUT, they will see ME in great clarity!"

What an encouraging word! I allowed that word to soak in, and then, I felt an excitement building up within me.

Have you noticed that when you are in a cloud or in fog that you don't see details as easily? What if we were so consumed with the glory of the Lord that we didn't see all those negative characteristics in His people?

I have given them the glory that You have given Me, that they may be one as We are one, I in them, and You in Me, that they may be made perfect in one, so that the world may know that You have sent Me and have loved them as You have loved Me.
— Jesus, John 17:20, 21

The oneness that God wants us to have is not oneness of mind, in which we agree about every little thing. The oneness that God wants us to have is oneness of HEART. It comes from our focus on Him and His kingdom cause.

Of course, there are things that need to be hammered out. There are things that need to be confronted, and there are vital doctrinal issues that needs to be defended. but there is a way and a time to do that. All must be done in LOVE.

Oh, the glory Jesus has given us! As He is one with the Father, We ARE ONE WITH HIM! Wow! What an amazing honor!  As a result, we are also one with each other. We are ONE BODY! We are VITALLY CONNECTED! What good would a hand be without an arm? How dare we cut another part of the body off? A deep revelation of that would change us.

On top of that, the Lord made very clear to me that His glory is going to increase in our midst IF we so desire His glory! All the silly things that we get upset about with each other will VANISH in the light of His glory! Our best days are still ahead. Get excited, brothers and sisters!

Lord, increase Your glory in our midst!

May the Lord of GLORY give you HIS vision to see as He sees!
